Summer 2021: We are looking forward to welcoming campers back to camp! In the months ahead, we’ll continue monitoring changing conditions and guidance as they emerge, adapting our plans and protocols as-needed to ensure the safety of all involved. Summer 2021 & COVID-19
First and foremost, we are planning to have camp this summer! Camp may look different with lower capacity, social distancing, group pods, and extra safety measures, but all the great parts of camp we love will be the same.
We will be using protocols based on guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the American Camp Association (ACA) and the Massachusetts Department of Health, and in direct consultation with the Wellesley Department of Health. We are committed to working in partnership with our families to create the safest environment for our entire camp community as a whole.
2021 AVAILABILITY The information in the table below can change quickly. We will try to keep this information as current as possible. If your session is full, you can submit the registration form and your child will be added to our waitlist. We do take several campers off the waitlist, up until the very start of the session. Unfortunately, it's impossible to predict exactly how many spaces will open up in any given age group or session. There is no charge to be on a waitlist.
THREES (3 yr olds)
FOURS (4 yr olds)
Entering K and 1st Grade
Entering 2nd & 3rd Grade
Entering 4th-6th Grade
Session 4 has one opening (The waiting list just started for the other sessions.)
We are located in Wellesley, and the camp is situated in a friendly, caring, elementary school setting. The foundation of our success is the quality of our staff, a supportive and nurturing environment, and a welcoming place where each child belongs. The administration and staff strive to make every child feel comfortable and safe in a fun camp setting. Founded in 1973, the camp’s noncompetitive environment fosters self-esteem and individual accomplishments. We hope that your family will join our great camp this season!
We offer camp programs for boys and girls ages 3 to 12.
Rising Star Sports (ages 3 - 7)
Regular Camp Weeks (ages 3 - 12)
*If your child is turning 3-years-old during the summer, please respect our age requirement. For the THREES program, campers must be three by (or during) their first week of camp in order to participate.
2021 Session Dates At a minimum, campers must attend a two-week session. At this time, we are not able to accept single-week enrollments. In an effort to keep our camper groups/pods consistent, the summer sessions are sold as two-week blocks and cannot be split up.
Session 1: June 28 - July 9th (closed on Monday, July 5th)
Session 2: July 12 - July 23
Session 3: July 26 - August 6
Session 4: August 9 - August 2o
We plan to offer our June Swim Lesson Program for two weeks: June 14 - 18 and June 21 - 25. Registration for the June Swim Program will open in the spring. If we are able to offer our Rising Star Sports program in June, we will let you know in the spring.
We typically have 250 - 300 campers a day. Our campers are 3 - 12 years old, and most come from Wellesley and neighboring towns. In any given season, approximately 500 children will participate in our camp and specialty weeks. Tenacre Day Camp has a highly regarded swim program with outdoor heated pools. For many campers, Tenacre is the first place they learn to swim.
