We are excited to announce that we are planning to provide our traditional summer camp experience for summer 2021!
Camp Season: June 28 - August 20The foundation of the camp's success is the quality of our staff. We pride ourselves on our ability to find amazing staff that we successfully train and support. The staff is composed of approximately 100 teaching professionals and college students, who serve as strong leaders and positive role models. All staff are at least 18 years of age, and most staff have completed one year of college or more. To be offered a position at camp, a candidate has to participate in an extensive application and screening process, on-site interview, Criminal Background and Sexual Offender checks (CORI and SORI) as well as a SAFIS fingerprint-based background check, and attend staff trainings. A high rate of staff return each year.
We hire experienced staff who love being with kids and are well trained. Our staff are led by our year-round camp director, Libby Fitzgerald. Her enthusiasm, dedication, leadership, and more than 18 years of camp experience bring a well-run, respected, nurturing, and safe camp program to the children and staff at Tenacre.
In our
FULL DAY program for children entering K - 6th, Tenacre staff members are at least 18-years-old and most have completed one or more years of college. In
THE THREES and
THE FOURS program, we hire a Head/Lead Counselor that must be a college graduate with preschool teaching experience or an Early Child hood background. We hire 1 to 3 group counselors that are high school graduates, and most of them are in college. Activity/Specialty Heads must be college graduates. Swim staff members are a minimum of 18 years old. All swim instructors are lifeguard certified. In addition, a registered nurse is on-site during the summer. Our staff are the main reason campers return to Tenacre each summer!
