How to Apply

• Step 1: Indicate Interest

  Indicate interest in our school by submitting an inquiry with us through our website. You will be prompted to create a record in a Ravenna account. Through this record we will notify you of deadlines for application requirements and share with you any events that we will be holding to help you learn more about our incredible school community.

• Step 2: Engage with Us

  Engage in a parent interview in person or via Zoom with our Director of Enrollment, Meg Burke, which can be scheduled by emailing Elizabeth O’Connell, Assistant Director of Enrollment. In-person interviews will be preceded by a tour of the school.  For interviews conducted via zoom, tours will be offered at alternate times.

  
  Admission appointments for parents applying to all grades begin in October 2024.  You should expect the in-person interview and tour to last about 1.5 hours and the Zoom interview to last about 45 minutes. • Step 3: Online Application & Supporting Documents

  Create an account on Ravenna and complete the preliminary application prior to your parent interview. You do not need to complete the entire application at once. The parent questionnaire, parent interview, student visits, progress reports and teacher evaluation must be completed by February 7, 2025. The $60 non-refundable application fee is due upon completing the preliminary application. 

  
  For all Applicants, the AISNE recommendation form is due by February 7, 2025. For Grade 6 applicants, the Tenacre Teacher Checklist form is due by February 7, 2025. When you are logged into your Ravenna account, please follow instructions to have the AISNE Form or 6th Grade Tenacre Checklist form sent directly to your child's teacher. It is recommended that you initiate sending the form by December to give your child's teacher enough time to complete the form by the due date of February 7, 2025.

  
  Submit the most recent school transcript you have for your child by sending it directly to Elizabeth O’Connell at eoconnell@tenacrecds.org by February 7, 2025.

  
  Applications received after February 7, 2025 will be considered as space allows. Please call the Admissions Office to discuss this process.

• Step 4: Student Evaluations

  Information for Applicants to Pre-K and Kindergarten 
  All students applying to PK and K attend an Admission group visit which will take place in January, as well as an individual child visit. The Group Visit dates are January 22 from 1:00-2:10pm for PK, January 25 from 9:00-10:00am for PK and 10:30-11"45am for K, and January 29 from 1:00-2:00pm for K. All group visits are scheduled by calling Elizabeth O'Connell. Individual visits are scheduled by calling Elizabeth O'Connell and the visit lasts 30 minutes and are scheduled on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday morning from 8:30am - 11:00am. 

  
  Information for Applicants in Grades 1-6
  Students applying to Grades 1-6 attend Admission Day on February 1, 2025 (rain date 2/8/2025), for a group screening. The morning will include assessment in reading, writing and mathematics, as well as classroom activities with homeroom teachers, a special subject class such as science or technology and games in the gym with our P.E. staff.

   

• Step 5: Financial Aid

  Tenacre is committed to assisting families of qualified applicants to achieve their goal of an independent school education for their child, whatever their financial situation.

  
  You may begin to fill out your Financial Aid application online in early October by creating an account in Clarity Financial Aid. You only need to fill out one financial aid applicaiton, which will cover all the schools you may be applying to. Please visit our Financial Aid page for more information.

  
  Financial Aid applications and all required documents (copies of W-2 forms and completed 1040 tax forms) are due at both Tenacre and Clarity by February 7, 2025.

• Step 6: Final Checklist

  The application deadline for the 2025-26 year is February 7, 2025.
  
  

  For all applicants, please make sure we have the following by February 7:
  

  1. Online application, including the Preliminary Application and the Parent/Guardian Questionnaire
  2. Completed parent interview with Meg Burke
  3. Recent transcript/progress report

  For Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5 applicants:
  

  1. The appropriate AISNE independent school evaluation form
  2. Appropriate student evaluation materials (see Step 4)

  For Grade 6 applicants, please include:
  

  1. Tenacre teacher checklist form
  2. Appropriate student evaluation materials (see Step 4)

  Decision letters and financial aid letters will be released on Ravenna on Friday, March 7, 2025. Parents are asked to reply as soon as possible, but no later than April 10, 2025.
