Annual giving is the cornerstone of Tenacre’s fundraising activities. Annual giving affects every aspect of daily life at Tenacre. It strengthens our academic program; it ensures that deserving students who would otherwise not be able to afford a Tenacre education can attend school here; and it supports our faculty and staff. Voluntary contributions to the Annual Fund are vital to the continuous operation of the school each year as tuition covers only 76% of Tenacre’s expenses. By providing 10% of the school’s operating revenues each year, the Annual Fund helps ensure that Tenacre will meet its mission to "nurture and challenge each child, every day."
Each year over 1,500 members of the Tenacre community, including current parents, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, faculty, staff and friends of the school, are invited to participate in the Annual Fund. The Annual Fund kicks off in the fall and concludes with the close of the school's fiscal year on June 30th.
Participation is a key value in the Tenacre community. For the last 12 years, 100% of current parents have contributed to the Annual Fund, while 100% of faculty and staff have contributed for the last 10 years. Achieving 100% participation levels is unheard of among independent schools, let alone among small elementary schools, and is a testament to the closeness of our community and its commitment to Tenacre’s mission.
