Welcome

Tenacre is a small, close-knit community where every student and family is known and valued. Parents contribute in meaningful ways, giving generously of their time, talent, and treasure.
Like most independent schools, Tenacre relies on tuition, endowment income, and annual giving. Tuition covers only 76% of expenses, so the Annual Fund, which provides nearly 10% of operating revenue, is essential to fulfilling our mission to "nurture and challenge each child, every day."

The Annual Fund invites everyone in our community—parents, alumni, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends—to make an immediate impact. Every gift, of any size, matters.

We are grateful for generations of generous support. Your gifts of time, talent, and treasure make everything extraordinary about Tenacre possible. The Annual Fund runs from the fall through the close of the fiscal year on June 30.

  • Matching Gifts

More than 1,500 companies will match or multiply donations from their employees (in some cases, an employee's spouse). You should contact your employer's personnel office to determine whether your company participates in a matching gift program and to request the necessary forms. Your company might also participate in online processing of matching gifts.
  • Gifts-In-Kind

Contributions of tangible personal property may offer you an immediate tax deduction. The amount of deduction depends on whether the gift relates directly to Tenacre's educational activities and purposes. All gifts-in-kind to the school will be credited on the basis of appraised value provided by the donor (or fair market value if an appraised value is not provided.) Gifts-in-kind include donations of art, equipment, rare books, real estate and similar non-monetary contributions. Tenacre reserves the right to preview the condition of the gift before accepting it.
  • Deferred Gifts and Bequests

Bequest gifts are lasting investments in the future of Tenacre. Donors may find they can make a more substantial gift to Tenacre through a deferred gift than through an outright contribution. Usually deferred gifts are trust funds that generate income paid to the donor during his or her lifetime, with the principal going to the school after the donor's death. Donors receive full tax benefits for their contributions thereby enhancing their own financial situation. Bequests that are realized and consistent with the school's goals will be counted in the fiscal year in which they are given.
  • Memorial and Honorary Gifts

Gifts may be made in memory of an individual who has passed away or specified to honor a member of your family or the School's family.
