Kindness in Color: Artist Bren Bataclan visits Tenacre

This morning, Tenacre hosted Boston-based artist Bren Bataclan, whose vibrant and quirky art has been displayed in the Tenacre Art Gallery (TAG) since the start of school. He gave a presentation and led an interactive drawing exercise for the school community. The premise behind Bren’s artwork is kindness. He regularly gives away paintings with a note that says, “This painting is yours if you promise to smile at random people more often.” Bren’s goal is to spread kindness through the animé-inspired characters he paints. Over the last 23 years, he has left more than 4,000 paintings for people to take for free in public spaces across the country and around the world. Bren has also been sharing his kindness-related street art project with schools for over fifteen years.
