Third graders start their study of cow's eye

Tenacre third graders have been learning about the physical properties of light and the physiology and anatomy of the human eye. This morning, they gained first-hand knowledge by using a cow eye specimen, which has a similar construction to the human eye. They explored the anatomical parts that they have been studying. The study of the cow’s eye provides students with a relevant comparison to explain various diseases and problems that affect the eyes of typical mammalian organisms.
