Sixth graders transform into historical figures

This morning, sixth graders transformed into historical figures for their annual "wax museum," bringing their research projects to life through costume and performance. Students selected historical figures to study, conducted library research, wrote comprehensive papers, and then presented their findings while dressed as their chosen subjects. Students delivered brief speeches highlighting their figure's key accomplishments and historical significance. This year's lineup included dance pioneer Martha Graham, President John F. Kennedy, computer programming trailblazer Ada Lovelace, scientist Isaac Newton, aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart, and civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. The project serves as a comprehensive introduction to research methodology, combining traditional academic skills with creative presentation to help sixth graders develop essential research capabilities.
