In science class, third graders have been learning about the four forces of flight (gravity, lift, thrust, drag). This week, they focused on the forces of drag and lift while building and testing gliders made from styrofoam plates. As they tested their designs, students collected data, made predictions, and practiced analytics. This exercise provided a hands-on way to manipulate the forces of flight.
