Third graders paint in Tenacre's "outdoor classroom"

Third graders seized the gift of spring-drenched afternoons this Tuesday and Wednesday to paint en plein air in the Phyllis Scoboria Orchard—Tenacre's outdoor classroom. Venturing outside with brushes and palettes in hand, students immersed themselves in the quiet Orchard, observing the subtle differences among the apple trees—how their trunks are twisted, how the canopies of leaves varied in fullness, and how the light filtered through each tangle of branches before painting their own interpretation of the scene.
