First graders jump into pixel art

First-grade students in tech class are learning about the building blocks of a digital image by creating their own pixel art. As a one-day extension project, students worked in teams to create representations of classic video game characters out of sticky notes. The unit will culminate in each student designing their own pixel art hero and using basic binary code to digitally recreate their characters.
