Grade 6 sets up its own mock election
As U.S. citizens across the country headed the polling booths today, Tenacre students and staff participated in mock election hosted by the sixth grade. A polling station was set up outside the classroom and was open from 8:00-11:50 a.m. Sixth graders registered voters and handed them their ballots. In addition to numerous staff who participated, students from Grades 3, 4 and 5 all voted. The mock election ties in with the Grade 6 social studies unit on leadership, government, and elections.
On another note, this conversation about the election was overheard yesterday in the Pre-K classroom:
"I cheer for Rommey."
"I cheer for Mobama."
"I cheer for the Red Sox."
