|Financial Aid at Tenacre|
If you are just beginning the process of finding an independent school for your child, you are probably attracted to the quality education, small class size, and attention to the needs of each child that schools such as Tenacre provide. At the same time, you may be concerned about meeting the high costs of an independent school education.
Tenacre believes that talented, motivated students should not be denied the chance to attend Tenacre School solely for financial reasons. The vitality of our community is enhanced by the socio-economic breadth of our student body.
|Applying for Financial Aid|
A recent survey of public school parents revealed that 57% would enroll their child in an independent school if they believed they could afford to do so. However, most of these families never investigate the opportunity made available through a school’s financial aid fund. Awards are made not only to families whose ability to pay is limited, but also to those of more substantial means who may need only a small subsidy to meet tuition charges. 19% of Tenacre students receive some financial assistance.
Applying for Financial Aid does not affect your child’s chances of admission. The processes are simultaneous, but separate.
1) The first step is to learn as much as possible about the process by going to www.nais.org/financialaid/sss
. SSS is a good source of information. We strongly suggest you read the SSS Family Guide to Financial Aid
to help you understand and navigate the process. There is a link on the right-hand side of page which will take you there as well.
2) Starting on November 1, 2013 you may go to http://sss.nais.org/parents/
to begin the process of completeing your Parents Financial Statement (PFS). Click the link at right entitled "2014-15 PFS Workbook
" to get started.
3) We know this process can seem daunting at first, but we'd like to support you throughout the process. If you have questions about the process itself, or the amount of your grant, please don't hesitate to call or email Sam Reece
at 781-431-8575 x203. We can help.

|Financial Aid for Afternoon Programs|MidDay Program
The purpose of our MidDay Program is to provide child care and enrichment activities for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students following their regular morning program, until 3:25 pm. Pre-Kindergarten children may sign up Monday through Thursday, Kindergarten children may sign up for Monday and Wednesday in the first semester, and for Monday only in the second as Wednesday becomes a full day at that time.
For families receiving assistance with their tuition, the MidDay program grant will be proportional to the financial aid grant. The payment plan will be the same as that chosen for the school tuition, either 8 monthly payments or 2 payments, with the deposit applied to the final bill.
We make a sincere effort to keep this the After-School program affordable for all in our community. The cost depends upon which day(s), how many days per week, and how long each day your child stays.
Rates vary from $9 - 11 per hour depending on attendance. Siblings pay 50% of that rate when they attend at the same time.
Financial aid is available. Please call the Office for more information.
