Tenacre offers a strong interscholastic athletic program for boys and girls in grades 5 and 6. The program is part of the Physical Education curriculum, with team practices taking place during P.E. classes. Games are scheduled for after school. We take great pride in the fact that everyone is a full participant in team sports -- we have no benchwarmers! All of our girls and boys get to play, be part of a team, and enjoy the thrill of friendly competition. Fair play and good sportsmanship are lifelong lessons that students take with them from Tenacre.
Teams play on Centennial Field, a regulation size soccer field that can handle baseball and softball games simultaneously. Basketball games are held in the beautiful Dareshori Gymnasium. In the fall, boys compete in soccer, while girls split the season between field hockey and soccer. Boys and girls both compete in basketball in the winter. In the spring, boys play baseball, and girls play softball. Teams compete against a veriety of schools, including Meadowbrook, Chestnut Hill School, DCD, Rashi, Brimmer and May, Fay, Fessenden, and Dana Hall.
