Enhancing Our Facilities

  • Renovated And Expanded Science Center

    Opened October 2015
    • Housing two dedicated classrooms with age-appropriate furnishings and equipment: One for Pre-K through Grade 3 and the other for Upper Grades 4-6
    • Providing spaces that have improved the quality and breadth of student work in the life, earth and physical science disciplines
    • Allowing greater emphasis on STEM learning and project-based work
  • Christian B. Elliot Community Center

    • Providing a multi-purpose common space able to host the entire Tenacre community
    • Expanding the performance arts space with improved seating and viewing of student talent
    • Housing an increased dining space and new kitchen and storage facilities
  • Expanded Kindergarten Classroom

    • Providing additional instructional space in the Kindergarten classsroom
  • Additional Classroom And Office Space

    • Providing the spaces necessary for flexible student groupings

  • Where does the At the Forefront Campaign stand now, and how are we doing?

    To date, we have raised more than $8.26 million of our $9 million goal (92%); we’re doing really well! More than 98 donors, including 100% of the Board of Trustees, have provided exemplary early generosity. The school has received four magnificent gifts of $500,000 or more, 8 at the $250,000 level, and 19 at the $100,000 level. While large gifts will continue to be important in achieving our overall goal, every gift to the Campaign is important. In true Tenacre fashion, broad participation by the entire Tenacre community makes a big statement!
  • What is the anticipated timetable for the construction of the Christian B. Elliot Center and the schedule for fundraising?

    Our hope is to begin construction of the Christian B. Elliot Center in the fall of 2016, but that timetable will be contingent upon continued fundraising success during early 2016. With the Campaign now officially underway, we are beginning to reach out more broadly to current parents and others in our community to ask for their support during this school year. We recognize that given the size of our goal, each family will be making an important philanthropic decision. Accordingly, we want to meet personally with every current parent to explain the program, answer questions, and ask for support. This will take time and will extend into the 2016-2017 school year. In order to encourage larger commitments, we will be asking all families to consider making a pledge that can be paid over three to five tax years. 
  • Is Tenacre also counting on us to support the Annual Fund during the Campaign?

    The Tenacre Annual Fund provides 10% of the school’s operating budget, and as such is vital to Tenacre’s day-to-day educational enterprise. We ask all families to make their Annual Fund commitment, this year and in subsequent years, their first priority.
  • How can I get more information about the Campaign?

    We will be providing various opportunities for you to hear more about project and fundraising plans. We hope that you can come to one or more of these events, as best fits your schedule. In the meantime, continue to visit the website for Campaign information and watch for newsletters and other communications throughout the year.
