Scenario 1: On-Campus Learning

In the Classroom
We assessed all of our spaces to measure classroom capacity under social-distancing expectations. We did a complete inventory of classroom furniture and equipment and will continue to evaluate the optimal usage of every space in the school. The goal is to maintain operations with full enrollment at the beginning of the year. Most likely, our students will remain in one small group of 10-14 students, depending on guidelines from the state. We are fortunate that our spacious facilities allow us to maintain the small groups required for social-distancing protocols.

Technology and Access
Tenacre will provide an individual device for every student, ensuring that we are truly one-to-one. This will help maintain healthy practices in school and ensure that each student, in the event of any absences from school or school closures, will have the right equipment to navigate learning at home without disruption.

Drop-off and Pick-up
Drop-off and pick-up procedures will be established to ensure social distancing. Parents will not be regularly allowed on campus. Our youngest students will be met by teachers and escorted to their classrooms. We are working with our bus company to ensure that our student passengers travel safely and comfortably on the bus.

Health Protocols
Plans are underway to create a new Health Center to better accommodate and isolate anyone showing COVID-19 symptoms while maintaining the daily care of our community.

We are developing new health protocols to be released later this summer. We now understand that wearing a mask can be one of the best methods of good personal and community health practice. Families should anticipate that students and staff will wear masks as often as possible at school. We will have a supply of extra masks at school, and families should be prepared to provide masks for their children that the kids are comfortable wearing.

Campus Changes
We are adding hygiene stations for hand-washing and hand-sanitizing in the school. We will also provide water bottle filling stations. Classroom furniture is being assessed to provide individual seating for students wherever possible and accounting for the different developmental needs of our students and program. We are fortunate to have ample outdoor space, and some classes, as appropriate, may take place outside.
