Community Events at Tenacre

Children ages 4 to 6 are invited to participate in three different classes at Tenacre this November. Art, gymnastics, and music classes will be offered – choose one or choose them all!

All classes will run from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.

NOVEMBER 2: Georgia O'Keeffe-inspired landscapes
Children will explore their creative side this November and learn how to create a fall landscape inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe. They will explore drawing, painting, and printmaking, and students will leave with a completed landscape that shows perspective and value. The class will be taught by Tenacre art teacher Molly Rosenthal.

NOVEMBER 9: Gymnastic obstacle course
Come swing, climb, and explore ways to move through the Tenacre educational gymnastic obstacle course. Children will use their imagination as they traverse the rock wall like a super hero, swing over a poisonous peanut butter pit, climb across a giant spider web, and more. Tenacre P.E. teacher Patti Delaney will build an exciting obstacle course and guide children through their exploration. The class will begin with an active warm-up activity and end with calming yoga stretches.

NOVEMBER 16: Music on the farm
Come sing, dance, play, and explore musical stories about animals on a farm. Children will sing farm-themed songs, shake their shakers to a chicken song, and dance to music. They will explore their voices with stories and games, use their bodies to respond to music, and end with a relaxing musical story. The class will be taught by Tenacre art teacher Sarah Kornfeld.
