The 2008 SWIM APPLICATION form became available March 7th.

Private Lessons
Private lessons are offered each morning on the half hour from 10:00 a.m. until 1:10 p.m. The specialized one-on-one instruction is taught by an experienced instructor who has proven success in working with all ages and levels. The private lessons are designed for persons who would like the opportunity to work independently with an instructor. Private Lesson Times are for ages 3 and up.

Group Lessons
Group Lesson times are offered in the morning (as well as the afternoon) during Week 3 only. Each class is comprised of a maximum of four children. The small group lessons are set by age and ability. Children may be moved to a different skill level based on their present performance or achievement. Group Lesson Times are for ages 4 and up.

Parent & Toddler Class
This class is an introduction to the water for children ages 1 to 3 years. A parent or adult must work in the water with the child, under the guidance of a Tenacre swim instructor. The 30-minute lessons focus on swimming and safety skills like water entry and exit, exploring the pool, holding and support techniques, getting wet, kicking, floating, and arm paddling. Swim Diapers must be worn by all children not 100% potty trained.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT & CONFIRMATION POLICIES
An acknowledgement that the application and payment has been received will be emailed (or mailed if requested) within one week of receipt. The payment will be deposited. Due to scheduling demands, the confirmation of swim lesson time(s) will be emailed in May. Tenacre Swim Lesson Program reserves the right to cancel under enrolled classes. A full refund will be mailed.

Arrival & Departure
Swimmers must be ready 10 minutes prior to the scheduled lesson time and plan to depart promptly at the conclusion of the lesson. Changing rooms are not available. Parents are required to stay on the premises for the duration of the swim lesson, but are not allowed on the pool deck at any time.

Weather Condition Policy
Tenacre is an outdoor facility so weather is a factor. Classes WILL BE held in the rain. If makeup classes become necessary due to thunder, lightning storms, or other unforeseen circumstances, they will be assigned by the director, during Weeks 1 & 2 ONLY, whenever possible. Tenacre tries very hard to reschedule cancelled classes, but it is not guaranteed. Contact the office at 781-235-3238 if conditions are questionable about 20 minutes before your child’s lesson begins.

Swim Goggles
Children may wear swim goggles for their lessons. Snorkeling masks are not permitted.

For the Health and Safety of all Swimmers
If your child is not completely potty-trained, Tenacre requires that your child must wear a swim diaper while in the pool. Also, a tight-fitting swim suit must be worn over the diaper for extra protection. An accident would result in the closing of the pool, which would halt swim lessons for an extended period of time. If you have any questions, please contact the Tenacre Day Camp office. Thank you for your cooperation.

Medical Insurance
Tenacre Swim Lesson Program DOES NOT provide medical insurance. In the event of illness or injury requiring treatment, hospitalization, and/or surgery, family medical insurance must be used.
