This was Sophia's first year at Tenacre, and her first experience with camp all together. I can't tell you how pleased we were with the whole experience. From the organized flow of drop-off and pick-up, to the detailed communications and information necessary for the parents sent out ahead of time. Your camp and staff exceeded our expectations! Thank you to your staff for helping to make Sophia's, and ours, first camp experience so positive and memorable. -2012 Parent

 | We Keep Your Campers SafeTenacre is a well-established Day Camp, and some of the staff has been with the camp for over 20 years, including the Director. We realize that sending your child to our camp is a big step, and we want to assure you that children are our greatest responsibility. The safety and health of your child is our top priority. Tenacre is certified every 3rd year by the American Camp Association. ACA-accredited camps must meet up to 300 nationally recognized standards. In Summer 2011, Tenacre received 100% in each of the 7 categories.
The Staff play an incredibly important role in assuring that our facility is safe, and that your children have a fun summer! Each member of our staff is screened through an extensive face-to-face interview process for their qualifications. We background check everyone with a CORI check, SORI check, and we conduct personal and professional reference checks. Additionally, all staff members participate in an intensive training one-week before camp begins.
We make sure that our counselors and camp leaders are aware of each child's needs, and we keep our counselor-to-camper ratios small. We hire a mature staff that love being with kids, and 95% of our staff are college students and teaching professionals. There is a registered Nurse on staff each day from 8am - 4pm. We have strict safety procedures in place for all activities, including pool, archery, and our ropes course. The staff members that work in these areas are certified and trained, and our swimming instructors are Red Cross certified.
We strive to stand out from other camps with our personalization. We invite you to come to our campus and take a personal tour. We want to know our parents and the kids attending our camp. We believe in open communication, and we want to personally answer your questions and talk about any concerns you may have. We keep group sizes small so that we can create a small camp feel where kids won't feel overwhelmed, but instead they feel connected in our nurturing environment.
Your child's well-being is our highest priority. To that end we hire experienced staff. We meet with each staff member personally before hiring them, we train our staff, and we have an impeccable safety record. You can trust that your child will be safe at Tenacre Day Camp and that your child will have a positive and memorable experience. |
