Tenacare Country Day School
Happy Kids! Happy Staff! Happy Summer!
Welcome to Tenacre Day Camp!
We are located in Wellesley, and the camp is situated in a friendly, caring, elementary school setting. The foundation of our success is the quality of our staff, a supportive and nurturing environment, and a welcoming place where each child belongs. The administration and staff strive to make every child feel comfortable and safe in a fun camp setting. Founded in 1973, the camp’s noncompetitive environment fosters self-esteem and individual accomplishments. We hope that your family will join our great camp this season!
The camp offers four two-week sessions for boys and girls ages 3 to 12. We also offer flexibility to our families; parents can sign up for single weeks when available. In addition to our quality Day Camp for children ages 3-12, Tenacre also offers a variety of other ways your children will be enriched by offering June & August Swimming Lessons
, Rising Star Sports
, and One-Week Specialty programs
. A great way to end the summer is our Week 9 Day Camp! TOURS: Please call 781.235.3238
We would love to show you our camp!
My children had the most fantastic experience at Tenacre this summer! To say they loved it is an understatement. Thank you so much for all you do to put together such great programming and incredible staffing. It was such a joy to hear their stories and see the smiles on their faces every day. -
|We Keep Your Campers Safe|
Tenacre is a well-established Day Camp, and more than 50% of the staff return each year. We realize that sending your child to our camp is a big step, and we want to assure you that children are our greatest responsibility. The safety and health of your child is our top priority.
Tenacre is certified every 3rd year by the American Camp Association. ACA-accredited camps must meet up to 300 nationally recognized standards.
The Staff play an incredibly important role in assuring that our facility is safe, and that your children have a fun summer! Each member of our staff is screened through an extensive face-to-face interview process for their qualifications. We background check everyone with a SAFIS (fingerprint-based) background check, a CORI check, a SORI check, and we conduct personal and professional reference checks. Additionally, all staff members participate in an intensive training one-week before camp begins.
We make sure that our counselors and camp leaders are aware of each child's needs, and we keep our counselor-to-camper ratios small. We hire a mature staff that love being with kids, and 95% of our staff are college students and teaching professionals. There is a registered Nurse on staff each day from 8am - 4pm. We have strict safety procedures in place for all activities, including pool, archery, and our ropes course. The staff members that work in these areas are certified and trained, and our swimming instructors are Red Cross certified.
We strive to stand out from other camps with our personalization. We invite you to come to our campus and take a tour. We want to know our parents and the kids attending our camp. We believe in open communication, and we want to answer all of your questions and talk about any concerns you may have. We keep group sizes small so that we can create a small camp feel where kids won't feel overwhelmed, but instead they feel connected in our nurturing environment.
Your child's well-being is our highest priority. To that end we hire experienced staff. We meet with each staff member personally before hiring them, we train our staff, and we have an impeccable safety record. You can trust that your child will be safe at Tenacre Day Camp and that your child will have a positive and memorable experience.
The camp is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA), and is celebrating more than 40 years of providing a safe, fun, wonderful day camp experience for children. As you look through the website and learn about the camp, we hope you will choose to enroll your child for the 2015 season.
