We're looking to hire awesome, friendly individuals to be a part of our Summer Camp team! Get ready for a summer filled with laughter, fun, and friendships that last a lifetime.
 
Qualifications:
  • Experience working with kids (babysitting counts!)
  • Ever been a camper yourself at a camp? That's a bonus!
  • Thrive in the great outdoors, rain or shine
  • Bring a positive attitude, responsibility, and punctuality
  • Team players are our heroes!
  • Ready to take on tasks and bring ideas to the table
  • 17 years of age or older by June 1, 2024, or high school graduate
Responsibilities:
  • Guide campers through fun activities, helping them create lasting memories and friendships
  • Encourage positive behavior and safety rules
  • Be a role model using language that is kid-friendly and promote kindness, curiousity, and personal growth
  • Actively find ways to nurture and challenge each child every day.
  • Help campers keep track of their personal belongings (water bottles, backpacks, shoes, etc.).

How to Apply
In order to apply for the summer season, please fill out the online staff application.  If your qualifications meet our needs, we will contact you to schedule a face-to-face interview, at which time you must present a government issued photo ID with address (Driver’s License). During the interview process, we also require the following background check forms:   CORI (Criminal Offender Background Check with Juvenile Records) and SORI (Sex Offender Background Check).

  • Background Checks & Fingerprinting

    Tenacre is required by Massachusetts law to obtain a fingerprint-based criminal background check, and we must submit and receive back a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information with Juvenile records) and SORI (Sexual Offender Registry Inquiry) on each staff person prior to hiring the individual. The CORI and SORI forms require an individual to present a current government issued photo ID with address (Driver’s License). Student ID's are NOT acceptable. The CORI and SORI forms are not due with the application, but will be filled out during the interview process.

    Hired staff will be provided with information about how to register for a fingerprinting appointment using our Provider ID.
  • Health Forms & Immunization Requirements

    Hired Staff must complete a Health History Form (online), and must either e-mail or upload a copy of a recent Physical Form with immunization records. The physical must be within 2 years.

  • Recommendations & Work Verification

    Tenacre Day Camp requires the following for New Staff (after the interview):
    • (3) Personal References.  A minimum of three references is required for camp. Reference request forms are sent and submitted digitally via an online form upon employment application submission. References cannot be relatives.
    • Verification of work/volunteer history for the past 5 years

Who works at Tenacre?

Tenacre Day Camp counselors are dedicated, fun, enthusiastic, caring, and dependable people. Our staff is composed of approximately 100 teaching professionals and college students, who serve as strong leaders and positive role models.  All staff are at least 17 years of age, and most staff have completed one year of college or more. Our Activity Specialists are college graduates and many of them teach during the school year. We are proud to say that we have a high rate of staff return each year.

A Typical Day

8:00AM - 8:25AM Morning Arrival
8:30AM Morning Meeting and Morning Rally
8:50AM - 1:00PM Half Day Activities
8:50AM - 3:15PM Full Day Activities

The Full Day and Half Day program includes a snack and lunch time. Camp provides a mid-morning nut-free snack. Campers and staff either can bring their own lunch, or purchase lunch from Camp by the week.

Each day includes a variety of activities (i.e. sports, crafts, story time, music, music & movement, yoga, gaga ball, and choice periods for the older campers).  Every camper has a swimming lesson every day.

Aftercamp child care is available until 6:00PM Monday through Thursday, and until 5:15PM Friday.
