The Threes

THE BEST FIRST CAMP EXPERIENCE FOR YOUR CHILD

Age: 3 years old

Tenacre Day Camp offers the best first camp experience for your child in an exciting, nurturing three year old program! This program is for children 3 years of age and toilet trained by the start of camp. Children utilize our elementary school facility, playgrounds, and pools. The Threes program is half day from 8:25 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  The 3 year olds can also stay for Extended Afternoons from 1:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.

Is your 3 year old interested in fun activities? This program encourages social interaction, creativity, and imagination within a safe, non-competitive, and caring environment. Half Day Camp activities include instructional swim, sports, arts and crafts, music, playground, nature, storytime, yoga and more. Extended Afternoons can be added Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. until 3:15 p.m. Aftercamp child care is also available until 6:00 p.m.

I value the excellent 1:1 swim lessons!

List of 6 items.

  • Swimming Lessons

We believe that swimming is an important life-saving skill and we continually get top marks for our swim program on the Parent Surveys. THE THREES have a swim lesson each day, and most 3 year olds swim 1:1.  The swim staff is entirely separate from the counseling staff, and all members of the swim staff hold Lifeguard Training (LGT) certification, and most hold Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification.  On the first day of each week, the new campers are tested for their swimming ability, and at the end of each child's enrollment in camp, an evaluation of progress is sent home in the form of a swim report.
  • Counselor to Camper Ratio

The Three's program maintains a 1 to 4 ratio and each group has a lead pre-school teacher.
  • Home-Base Classroom

The 3 year olds have a classroom that they meet in each morning.  This classroom space is a familiar place for The Threes to change for swimming, eat snack, eat lunch, and have some of their activities.
  • Snack & Lunch

Camp provides, a mid-morning snack with water, and children bring their own lunch, which is refrigerated.  Water is offered at lunch time, and your child can also pack his/her own drink.

One-Week Enrollments Three and Four Year Olds:
There is a 2-week minimum in the Day Camp, and the 2 weeks must be consecutive.  Single weeks can be added before or after the 2 consecutive weeks.  If you want to enroll your child in one (1) single week of the camp, we will not be able to confirm the one one week request until mid May.  Enrolling for two-weeks gives children the chance to settle into camp, get to know new friends, and experience all of the camp activities.  We find that campers who participate in multiple weeks of camp improve their skills and feel more confident in their abilities.

Tenacre nurtures and challenges each child, every day.
