Welcome

At Tenacre we are proud of our graduating students. We hope that each one of them leaves the school as a confident learner, a critical thinker and a caring citizen. To help our students make a successful transition to their next school, we work carefully with families to determine which secondary school is the best match for each child.
The Head of School, with support from our sixth grade teachers, is directly involved in the secondary school application process. Each spring, the Head meets with current fifth grade parents to review the admission timeline, application protocols, and critical aspects of the process that lie ahead for their student the following fall. In the early fall, the Head meets individually with students and parents to help identify a list of potential schools to consider. Students and parents visit schools and work on applications, while the Tenacre team prepares student profiles and recommendations, completes school forms, and helps students with their writing and interview skills.

Admission Director

The Tenacre name behind the [student] means [they] will come well prepared.
Tenacre prepares students for a broad range of schools. Students go on to attend both traditional and progressive schools, single sex and coed schools, large and small schools. The benefit of a school that focuses on elementary education is that it provides students with a foundation that allows them to take on a variety of challenges.

Admission directors from area secondary schools have commented that Tenacre students come academically prepared and are not afraid to voice their opinions.
