Tenacre’s Language Arts curriculum is designed to develop and foster a life-long love of reading and writing. Literacy skills become increasingly sophisticated as students read literature reflecting a range of genres, styles, and subjects, both fiction and non-fiction. Strong writing skills allow students to express ideas in varied forms such as journals, poetry, expository essays, and creative stories. Oral skills are also developed and are integral to classroom dialogue, asking interesting questions, sharing of ideas, and building community.
